Well, I am happy to report some good nutrition news from McDonald’s. Starting April 22, the fast food giant will add a healthy breakfast sandwich- the Egg White Delight McMuffin. While the traditional Egg McMuffin has always a good fast food breakfast choice, the new version is even better. Made with egg whites instead of the entire egg, it will be lower in cholesterol. It will still include the slice of cheese and Canadian bacon but the best part is that it will be served on a whole grain English muffin. No refined, white flour muffin! It’s about time a fast food place offered a whole grain bread product. The nutrition information is not yet available on line, but the press release states the new sandwich is 250 calories, 50 less than the traditional Egg McMuffin. The other piece of good news in the information is that egg whites will available as on option on their other breakfast sandwiches as well.
