About Christopher L. Madsen, MD

Christopher L. Madsen, M.D. is a Board Certified General Surgeon who is returning to his hometown here in Reno, Nevada to join our practice, starting November 1. Dr. Madsen is a fourth generation Nevadan and graduated from Reno High School in addition to attending the University of Nevada, Reno for his undergraduate and medical school education. After medical school, Dr. Madsen went to Baltimore, Maryland and completed his General Surgery residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, as well as a Research Fellowship in wound healing and soft tissue regeneration at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Madsen underwent an additional 18 months of clinical fellowship training focused on burn and wound care, diseases of the breast and soft tissue reconstruction before deciding to begin his general surgery practice.

Dr. Madsen’s clinical interests include Conditions of the Breast (cancerous and non-cancerous), skin and soft tissue diseases, Advanced and Robotic Hernia Repair, gallbladder surgery and colorectal surgery.

Dr. Madsen prides himself on his commitment to his patients and being their strongest advocate. Dr. Madsen enjoys spending the time necessary to educate his patients on their condition and counseling them on the different options that are available to help them.

Dr. Madsen and his wife recently welcomed their first child into the family, and are happy to be enjoying all of the wonderful things that have come along with that. When he is not working or with his family, Dr. Madsen enjoys being outdoors camping, fishing, golfing, playing soccer and hiking.
