About James C. Nunley, MD, FACS

James C. Nunley, M.D., F.A.C.S. (Fellow of the American College of Surgeons) is a Board Certified General Surgeon and is a native of nearby Northern California. A graduate of California Polytchechnic San Luis Obispo, Dr. Nunley attended Medical School at the prestigious Columbia University in New York. He completed his internship and surgical residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Washington.

Dr. Nunley’s interests include colorectal disorders, laparoscopic colon surgery and other aspects of general surgery, in particular Advanced & Robotic Hernia Repair and gallbladder surgery.

Dr. Nunley was a general surgeon in the United States Army, where he completed two tours in Iraq and has received several service medals. He has previously held positions as Trauma Medical Director, Assistant Chief of Surgery and served on the Utilization management committee at Saint Lukes East in Kansas City. Dr. Nunley is a past Chief of Surgery at Renown South Meadows and St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and also sits on the Robotic Surgery Steering Committee at Northern Nevada Medical Center.

In his spare time, Dr. Nunley enjoys jogging, golfing, and spending time with his wife and children.
