About Brian E. Juell, MD, FACS

Brian E. Juell, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also board certified in surgical critical care. Dr. Juell graduated magna cum laude from the University of Utah and earned his medical degree from the University of Utah College of Medicine as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed two years of General Surgery residency at the University of Michigan and finished his residency at the University of Utah.

Dr. Juell’s clinical interests include abdominal exploration, advanced and robotic hernia repair, vascular disorders, colorectal procedures, advanced trauma care, surgical critical care, and breast conditions.

He is a member of the Southwest Surgical Congress, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the Americas Hernia Society. Dr. Juell is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and serves on the Trauma Panel and the Surgical Intensivist Panel at Renown Regional Medical Center. He is the former Director of Renown’s Breast Cancer Center and past Chief of Staff at Saint Mary’s. Dr. Juell is the only surgeon in Northern Nevada certified in breast ultrasound by the American Societies of Breast Surgeons and Radiology.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys hunting, fishing, beekeeping, and spending time with his wife, children, and young grandchildren.
